1 How often should I take language courses?

Learning a language requires regular practice. We recommend a minimum of two language courses per week in order to anchor the results of the foreign language studied.

For fast language learning, we recommend one-to-one lessons. The learner, in consultation with the teacher, can thus define the periodicity of his or her lessons and choose an individual timetable.

We advise our students to practice the language studied (English, French, German, Luxembourgish, Italian, Portuguese or Russian) daily, either through written exercises provided by the teacher, or through short conversations with a native speaker of the language studied.

2 What are the differences between a private language course and learning a language in a group?

The main difference between the one-to-one course and the small group language course is the personalisation of the course. The one-to-one course allows the teacher to adapt his or her educational program according to the learner’s personal objectives: work, daily discussions, tourism vocabulary, commercial or legal vocabulary… The course evolves according to the student’s progress.

Taking language courses in a group requires a certain homogeneity in the language level of the participants. The teacher defines the course programme according to the objectives of the group or the employer (in the case of a group formed by employees of the same company).

3 Where are your language courses held?

Precis is a language school located in Luxembourg that offers individual or group language courses for individuals or companies.

We welcome you in our classrooms in our premises located at 25C, Bd Royal L-2449 Luxembourg.

Our language teachers also travel to companies.

4 Do you offer language courses by industry sector?

Of course! Our language school creates courses adapted to people who wish to develop language skills in one of the languages taught in our institute (English, Luxembourgish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian) in relation to their function:

5 What types of language learning materials do you use?

Precis offers its students the opportunity to learn languages using processes based on oral, visual and written learning.

We provide you with written and oral course materials. Some exercises are based on language videos, others on authentic media (newspapers, press articles, web content…).

6 Which method is best suited when you want to learn a language?

Precis is based on the communicative approach. This consists of language learning through conversation in real situations, but also based on real documents. Our course materials are taken from real life and are perfectly adapted to adult learning.

The advantage of our language learning method is that it uses the student’s natural skills. Teaching a language with the communicative approach, a learner-centred method, allows us to adapt the course content to the person and his/her needs and objectives.

8 I travel a lot. What can I do to follow my language courses effectively?

If you have to travel often and cannot attend your English course or language course at fixed times, we advise you to enrol in an individual language course.

When you’re on the move, you can follow your language course via Skype and your teacher will send you the course materials by email.
